Blackwood Stag x Silverthorne DoeGenetics:
EE aaBasic Description:
Corvus illustrates the phrase 'tall, dark and handsome' with extreme accuracy. He possesses a rugged physique, long legs, and a smile that could melt hearts. His rack is impressive by most standards, but it's his eyes that get him the most attention. Fiery like the magic he possesses, his eyes are bright and expressive, and have been the reason a number of does have found themselves at his side in the night.Temperment:
Corvus is more than a little incompetent; really, it's a wonder he's lived this long. Despite his near uselessness, he's got a good heart, and is willing to help out in any situation.History
Corvus' story begins with his mother, a lovely Silverthorne doe, who was captured in a raid by a band of Blackwood stags. She was used and abused, and ended up pregnant with the spawn of one of her captors. Being the fierce thing she was, however, she suffered through the experience, all the while waiting patiently for a chance to escape back to her beloved Silverwood.
Her chance came early one morning, and she managed to slip away unseen. A fierce will to live, and more than a little luck, saw the doe safely back home. The herd was surprised, but received her warmly her after her ordeal.
She birthed her fawn some months later and, despite the young thing being a constant reminder of her torment, she kept the baby. That is not to say, however, that she loved it with all her heart.
Corvus was named for the inky darkness of his coat, which bore some resemblance to a raven's feathers. His mother raised him dutifully, but not affectionately. The herd knew of his origins, and the brutal way his mother had been treated by the faceless Blackwood cur who was his father, and judged him for it. He was well liked by fawns near his age, but was treated coldly by his elders.
Despite this treatment - or perhaps because of it - Corvus learned early how to make others laugh, how to amuse and delight. It helped, somewhat.
When he matured into a handsome young stag, his mother could bear the sight of him no longer. She conspired with a few older stags to run him off. Which is precisely what they did. After all, his mixed blood would muddy the purity of and Silverthorne does he might have won in the upcoming rut.
Truly alone for the first time in his life, Corvus was at a loss. His first few weeks of solitude were rough, but he learned how to get by, and eventually saw his predicament as an opportunity for adventure. So, the young stag traveled, and used his flair for showmanship to make something of a living.
Over the course of many seasons, Corvus styled himself as a traveling gypsy fortune teller. In exchange for food, safety for a few nights, and perhaps a trinket here and there, the young stag would delight and entertain, using his minimal fire skills and charming personality to enthrall and tell fawnlings their future -- whether or not he actually CAN predict the future is unknown, but it's amusing nonetheless.
He knows to stay away from the main herds during the rut, but that doesn't stop him from occasionally showing up to tempt away a young doe or two for a secret rendezvous.Birthplace:
